The judge had to reschedule Mr. Emefiele's arraignment despite the fact that he was present when he was accused of an N6.9 billion fraud.

The expected arraignment of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on accusations of procurement fraud in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja on Thursday was postponed because of the absence of a co-defendant.

Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was supposed to be arraigned on accusations of procurement fraud before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja on Thursday, but it was postponed due to the absence of a co-defendant. Sa'adatu Ramalan-Yaro, a co-defendant, was said to be unwell and unable to appear in court despite being represented by counsel.

The case involved 20 counts of conspiracy and procurement fraud, but Mr. Emefiele was present and looked to be scheduled for arraignment.

The case was heard by Judge Hamzat Muazu of the FCT High Court's Maitama Division. Mohammed Abubakar, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), informed the court that Mrs. Ramalan-Yaro "is indisposed to be" the defendant after the suspended CBN governor climbed the defendant's box.
